Welcome to A Sheng’s Notebook (asheng.fyi, “this site”). This policy explains what information this site processes, how it is used, and what choices you have. By browsing this site, you acknowledge the practices described below.
1. What this site collects
1.1 View counts (no personal identifiers)
This site runs a small counter built on Cloudflare Pages Functions. It records only how many times a page was opened and when counting began — shown as “Total views” in the sidebar and “Views on this note” on article pages. The counter sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses, builds no user profiles, and does not track you across other websites.
1.2 Third-party services
- Google Fonts: the web fonts (Noto Sans TC, Noto Serif TC) are served by Google Fonts. Loading a page sends a request, including your IP address, to Google; this is handled under the Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: this site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous traffic statistics (no cookies, no personal profiles). As the hosting and security provider, Cloudflare processes connection information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service — see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense: this site’s advertising service, described in the next section.
2. Ads and cookies (Google AdSense)
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners (third-party vendors) may use cookies to show you ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google uses advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads on its and its partners’ sites.
- Besides cookies, third-party vendors may also use web beacons or similar technologies.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com); you can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ advertising cookies at aboutads.info (www.aboutads.info).
- After opting out you will still see ads, but they will no longer be personalized based on your browsing history.

- This site does not sell your personal data.
3. How data is used
- View counts: used only to show how much this site is read — in the sidebar and on article pages.
- Fonts and ads: handled by Google Fonts and Google AdSense under their own policies; this site does not access the contents of those cookies directly.
- This site has no member accounts, collects no email addresses, and never asks you for personal identifying information.
4. Your choices and rights
- Managing cookies: you can view, block, or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking ad cookies does not affect reading this site.
- Opting out of personalized ads: use Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info, linked in the previous section.
- Disabling JavaScript: the counter and some features need JavaScript; with it off, view counts are not sent and reading is unaffected.
- Tracking protection: most browser extensions and private modes will automatically block this site’s counting requests and the analytics beacon.
- Access or deletion: this site keeps no data that identifies you; if you have questions anyway, use the contact below.
5. Links to other sites
Articles here may link to external sites (X, YouTube, GitHub, and others). Once you leave this site, those sites’ own privacy policies apply.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy is revised, the update will appear on this page with a new effective date above.
